What you can expect at the assessment?
The initial assessment involves Sharnay interacting with your child to gather information about their current communication skills. You will also get the opportunity to discuss your concerns as a parent or carer.
The assessment typically lasts 60-90 minutes.
Following the assessment, Sharnay will provide you with specific advice and recommendations, and discuss a schedule of ongoing appointments if necessary.
What type of therapy sessions are available?
Speech and language therapy sessions are offered on a 1:1 basis and depending on the needs of your child, may be offered weekly, fortnightly, or more or less frequently.
Sessions are individualised to suit the age and needs of your child, using fun and motivating activities and games.
A family-centred approach is an integral component of the therapy process, and aims to provide specific strategies or activities to be implemented into the child’s home or school environment.
